PHILIP JAMESON

 

Philip completed his first triathlon in 2001.  He completed the National Olympic distance Triathlon Championships in Liverpool 2004 in which he was 1st in the 17-19 age category.  He then accepted a place at Loughborough University to complete a degree and this is where his coaching career would start.  In 2005 he qualified for the European Championships in 2005 where he finished 8th in the 20-24 age category.  

In his final year he became chair of Loughborough Students Triathlon Club and went about developing the club through both coaching and structured planning.  During the year the club were crowned both BUSA Biathlon and Triathlon champions.  He became a BTF Level 3 Triathlon coach and qualified for the World Triathlon Championships in Hamburg, Germany.

 

As a coach Philip has been responsible for some of the club developments across the North East Region and has been coaching up to 200 people per week at different schools and clubs.  His enthusiastic manner has encouraged new people into the sport and allowed them to achieve their targets.
